Our BuckeyeThon Kids love attending YP events, interacting with students and sharing their stories. Families and kids can be invited for a YP event and can participate in many different ways and activities. We recommend that you allow them time to speak to all your attendees because our families and kids can provide first hand stories of facing pediatric illness.
To request a family, please fill out THIS FORM with your YPC during one of your meetings. Be sure to review all relevant information you have, including location, time, activity, and number of families with your YPC. After filling out the form, your YPC will be in contact with a Family Relations Member!
Things to Keep in Mind when Inviting Families:
- Please fill out the form no less than 6 weeks in advance of your event!
- Do NOT contact BuckeyeThon families personally. It is vital that BuckeyeThon facilitates any and ALL conversation between families. If you are unsure, please ask your YPC for clarification.
- When working with your YPC be as specific as possible with details. If dates, times, locations and roles aren’t finalized, please estimate so we can best inform our families on the event. Update your YPC with finalized details as soon as they become available.
- Please keep in mind certain events, including those that require physical ability, such as skating, jumping, bowling, may limit the families to which we can invite. Many of our children are limited in their ability to join in certain activities due to age or health conditions.
- Though families typically provide a notification of cancellation in advance, please keep in mind that it is possible for a family to cancel last minute due to health issues or unforeseen conflicts.
- If we are not able to provide a family or a family cancels last minute, BuckeyeThon will try its best to provide a replacement form of awareness and cause connection for you to use.
- If multiple families are needed for school events, it is not guaranteed that all will be there, but we can try our best.
